The Small School with the Big Attitude
Situated on the coast of Maine, our unique high school offers a variety
of opportunities and provides our students with an exciting and diverse
schedule. The big news this year is that students have recently received
their own personal laptops that they will be able to use threw out there
time in high school MMHS, with its student to teacher ratio of 10:1,
provides a personal learning environment in which students can feel
free to be themselves.

Opportunities
So Much to Do, So Little Time... At MMHS opportunities abound, for its students. From
going to visit Washington, D.C. for an entire week to learning
skills that carry you through life, there is something for everyone.
Our Early-College Program allows any junior or senior interested
to enroll in up to two classes at UMM completely free of cost.
Enrollment for the program this year is phenomenal, and nothing
but good things have been heard about it.
The new entrepreneurship program for students interested
in starting their own company also has been a success. It offers
students the chance to not only learn about business, but also
put into practice the skills required to create and manage a
successful business. So, as you can see, MMHS can offer you
everything from Anatomy to Zoology. Who could ask for more?
Model State: Each year, about 20 students from MMHS participate
in this activity that provides an insightful view into how
our government functions. Those who wish to participate write
a bill and observe it as it goes through the legal process
of either being passed or being "killed", as they
say in the state house. Students go to Augusta and take over
the State House for the weekend and pass or kill bills, just
like real politicians. The MMHS section of the program is
headed by Mrs. Cobb, our business technology teacher.
Close-Up Washington:
This year, Mrs. Albee is taking about 10 students to Washington,
D.C. to participate in the annual Close-Up Washington, D.C.
program. In this program, students raise money all year to
fly down to D.C. and learn tons about how the federal government
works. They listen to lectures given by political figures,
tour D.C. with the Close-Up group, and meet kids from all
across the country participating in the program. The program
attracts thousands of kids from across the country and is
an educational yet fun experience.
